WPP's Kantar Becomes 'Anchor Investor' In Research Startup ZappiStore

WPP research unit Kantar has taken a stake in ZappiStore Limited, a London-based firm that specializes in automated market research. Terms were not disclosed, but ZappiStore described the move as an “anchor investment.”

Launched in 2013, ZappiStore offers software applications that provide automated data collection and analytics through a self-service platform. The company currently operates in nine countries with plans to expand into 11 additional markets in the near future. ZappiStore’s clients include five of the top 10 global consumer goods companies, although the specific clients were not disclosed.

ZappiStore has already worked with Kantar operating companies TNS and Millward Brown in making TNS’s proprietary Conversion Model Express and Millward Brown’s outdoor and print copy testing solutions available for sale on a self-serve basis in ZappiStore.
