Ebay, Demandware Partner To Integrate Commerce Cloud Solutions

eBay Enterprise and Demandware announced a new partnership today to develop a more comprehensive cloud solution for retailers.

The commerce companies revealed that the partnership will integrate Demandware’s Commerce Cloud and eBay Enterprise’s platform of commerce solutions to create a cloud-based omnichannel solution for retail brands.

Although there is no expected timeline yet for when the integration will be complete, the combined powers of Demandware and eBay Enterprise could prove fruitful for retailers. By integrating Demandware’s data-driven customer profiles with eBay’s operations and management services, retailers can deliver a better customer experience by streamlining front-end and back-end systems.

“The combined capabilities deliver a unique value proposition in the market,” states Tobias Hartmann, president of eBay Enterprise. “Merchants want flexibility to more easily utilize and scale best-of-breed solutions to deliver great customer experiences. We believe this relationship offers an attractive option for commerce enablement and commerce operations.”

The Demandware Commerce Cloud streamlines retail and marketing operations by unifying cross-channel experiences and customer data. The cloud-based platform claims to be highly customizable and secure, and can power commerce across all digital channels to deliver a more personalized experience for customers.

eBay Enterprise’s suite of commerce services features a variety of operational services including retail order management, store fulfillment, dropship management and a centralized system of record for orders and inventory across the supply chain. Additional features include payments, tax, fraud, fulfillment, freight and customer care.

The two companies also already share a number of customers including Michael’s Craft Stores that will benefit from the partnership through a streamlined management and customer experience process.
