WE Communications - Senior Account Executive - Technology

The Tech Practice at WE is looking for a stellar PR Senior Account Executive, ready to turn it up in New York City.

Think Internet of Things and how tech is making your home be cozier and more energy friendly. Get scrappy with campaigns that target the status quo of phones, tablets, and mobile data. If you love new tech and have a penchant for talking it up with not just The Verge’s and LAPTOP’s of the world, but also the GQ’s, InStyle’s, and Refinery29’s, we want to chat. You’re on Twitter and Insta, checking the world’s happenings big and small, being in the know about influential brands and social magnates – and you have a point of view to match. You don’t mind a team that is five feet away and 3,000 miles away at the same time, with clients that want to hit up SoulCycle the next time they’re in town with us. Yep, us too. Responsibilities:

Influencer Engagement

• Serve as day-to-day contact for media/influencers; share knowledge

• Conduct outreach relevant to integrated marketing or other campaign tactics

• Oversee management of reactive requests, proactively influence & garner coverage

• Contribute to brainstorms & strategic campaign development

• Provide timely and in-depth analysis of coverage results & trends

Digital & Social Media Acumen

• Assist in creating high-level digital/social media strategies that are integrated into communication plans

• Engage with agency digital & monitoring divisions regarding client projects & deliverables

• Amplify/promote news on social properties; update & maintain social editorial calendar

Client Engagement

• Begin anticipating client communication challenges & develop recommendations

• Contribute to development & implementation of communication strategies

• Execute tasks associated with projects; may lead certain aspects of project

• Oversee client meetings, agendas & recaps

• Begin to understand clients’ business model from a global perspective; understand key markets, global influencers and the impact on client/business narrative

Business Acumen & Strategic Thinking

• Contribute to plans & own executing portions of a plan • Identify opportunities for cross-team integration

• Share POV, knowledge & expertise with the team/ agency through presentations, brown bag sessions or development courses, etc.

New Business Development

• Become familiar with WE capabilities across the agency including global region specialties in comparison to competitor agencies

• Serve in a lead research role on organic growth new business efforts including sourcing and gathering audience, industry or competitor market data

• Understand & identify potential opportunities to grow & diversify existing account

• Begin to develop and nurture network of peer contacts outside the agency

People Leadership

• Gain management skills by mentoring junior level staff

• Be a peer resource to staff, interns & new hires

• Manage up to senior staff

Qualifications:

• Typically at least 3-4 years’ experience in communications, preferably in an agency setting &/or within applicable industry

• Ability to drive client relationships, providing strategic & tactical advice, drafting/executing plans, providing thoughtful analysis, identifying proactive opportunities, crafting materials, tracking coverage

• Has established influential relationships & proactively placed stories

• Demonstrated ability to establish strong client relationships

• Strong organizational skills & ability to multi-task, work in a team environment, and meet deadlines

• Proficiency in computers & standard office applications (Microsoft Office is preferred)

• Bachelor’s degree or above preferred in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, English or related field
