Google has produced a video explaining the evolution of Google search, starting with its roots in PageRank at Stanford University, moving through adding paid-search ads, and indexing and aggregating news and information more frequently than once monthly. Even as recently as Sept. 11, 2001, the news was crawled about every few weeks, according to the video. Nirvana would be to build a search engine that would enable anyone to ask a question and get an educated answer -- such as when is the best time to sow seeds in India, given that the monsoon came early this year.
