Last month we featured “What Are Teen Girls Really Talking About?” I received many emails asking me for more information about “This Girl.” So we asked hundreds of teen girls for their likes, dislikes, heroes and favorite movies, books and music. Below is a random sampling of four girls ages 13 - 16, an inside look at “This Girl.”

Age 13

Likes: Candy, Good Substantial Music, Dr Pepper

Dislikes: Rap Music, Justin Bieber

Fave Movies: Monty Python and the Holy Grail, She’s the Man, Young Frankenstein, all Harry Potters

Fave Music: Muse, Paramour, Selena Gomez & the Scene, Victoria Justice

Heroes: St. Gianna Molla, St. Thomas More

Fave Books: All Harry Potter, Hunger Games, Uglies Series: Pretties, Specials, Extras

Age 14

Likes: Hot Chocolate

Dislikes: Stupid People

Fave Movies: Avatar, How to Train Your Dragon, Mean Girls and Easy A

Fave Music: Owl City, Cameron Burnette & The Ghost Ballerinas, Ke$ha, Lady Gaga, Scarlet Grey, Vanessa Carlton, Regina Spektor, Bobby Teenager, Freelance Whales, Ingrid Michaelson, Adele, Darren Criss

Heroes: J.K. Rowling

Books: Books by Jerry Spinelli and Gail Carson Levine

Age 15

Likes: Hats, Pet Rocks, 80’s Movies, Cupcakes, Band Jokes, Pillow Pets and Ramen Noodles

Dislikes: Ignorance. The fact my life isn’t an 80’s movie. The fact I can’t eat Ramen everyday.

Fave Movies: The Breakfast Club, 500 days of Summer, Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Toy Story 1-3, Easy A

Age 16

Heroes: My Dad

   Hi, I would be curious as to how much of the profiles "likes" result in an commercial transaction. Most of the music and films (and even books) can be gotten for free or via global all you can eat licenses, which translate to no money going to the artists who make the stuff. It would be nice to see if any money is going towards those things that they value.
