'The Washington Post' Collaborates With Marriott On Regenerative Travel Content Again

The Washington Post Creative Group and Marriott Bonvoy, Marriott International’s travel program and marketplace, are extending their “regenerative travel” collaboration into a second year.

The arrangement is designed to “bring to life what it means to travel with purpose, leveraging The Post’s tools and insights to create immersive experiences for readers both on and off The Post’s site,” says Mary Gail Pezzimenti, head of The Washington Post Creative Group.

The Post describes regenerative travel as "the practice of planning trips that benefit local communities, economies, and the environment.”

The content will include immersive articles and videos that follow the surprising personal journeys of a new generation of travel storytellers in unsung destinations and communities.

The first installment features LGBTQ+ travel influencer Alysse Dalessandro, who discovers a queer haven in the heart of Arkansas.

In the second edition, TikTok content creators Cole and Charisma Sydnor visit St. Helena Island in South Carolina and explore the Gullah Geechee culture that is part of  Charisma’s heritage.

The collaboration “enables us to bring these personal journeys to life that will hopefully impact and inspire others to take a step back to plan their own regenerative travel adventures that create uplifting, lifelong memories,” says Brian Povinelli, senior vice president, global head of marketing and brand, Marriott International.
