Chioma Nnadi Named Editorial Head Of British 'Vogue'

Condé Nast has named Chioma Nnadi as head of editorial content for British Vogue, effective Oct. 9.

Nnadi replaces Edward Enninful, who will now be an editorial advisor.

Having served most recently as editor of Vogue.com, Nnadi rose from writer to the post of fashion news director. She has overseen digital coverage of such brand events as the Met Gala, Forces of Fashion and Vogue World.

Nnadi is a London native of Nigerian and Swiss-German descent. Prior to joining Vogue in 2010, Nnadi wrote for Trace, an independent style magazine, and later was style director at Fader.

“Chioma is beloved among her colleagues at Vogue, and is an editor and writer with an impeccable reputation — both here and in the fashion industry at large,’ says Anna Wintour, chief content officer and global editorial director, Vogue.

Wintour adds, “I’m so grateful to Edward Enninful for everything he’s accomplished at British Vogue, and we’re all looking forward to a productive and creative relationship with him in his new role.”

Enninful had once been seen as a possible successor to Wintour.

"As someone who was born and raised in London, the energy of the city — it’s boundary-pushing style and creative scene — has shaped the way I look at the world," Nnadi says. “Now, more than ever, it feels like a moment to look beyond borders while also celebrating the broad scope of what it means to be British.”
