Publishers Clearing House Debuts New Prizes And Games

Publishers Clearing House (PCH) Media has launched a set of web and mobile-app experiences to elevate the user experience.

The goal is to keep “keep existing and new users coming back to our apps and web experiences on a daily basis,” says Andy Goldberg, PCH's president and CEO.

According to PCH, the new experiences include:

  • Weekly Grand Prize — Eight prizes are always available and one is given away every week. The next Weekly Grand Prize offered will be a 2023 Ford Escape Platinum, which will be awarded to a lucky winner on November 21, 2023.
  • Apps — PCH Media is launching additional mobile games with limited ads, providing premium ad space for marketers; one of these, Treasure Match, is already available in app stores; others, including Royal Solitaire and Wordmania, will be launched in the coming months.
  • Daily Polls on the Weekly Grand Prize — This will bolster the firm’s zero- and first-party data.

"Our enriched consumer experiences are designed to drive heightened engagement with superior ad space for our brand marketing clients," says John Andrade, head of analytics, PCH Media. "With accelerating third-party cookie deprecation, brands are looking for new ways to get in front of key audiences."

PCH was founded in 1953 by direct marketer Harold E. Mertz, the mission being to help sell magazine subscriptions by using sweepstakes. Mertz died in 1983.

Through the years, the company occasionally faced regulatory issues over copy that seemed to imply the person may already have won, but it has been known for actually giving out the prizes.
