  • Consumers Spend Most in Top 5 Categories

    According to the eSpending Report from Goldman, Sachs & Co., Harris Interactive, and Nielsen//NetRatings, the books, music and video/DVD, apparel and consumer electronics categories claimed the bulk of online spending since the beginning of the 2002 holiday shopping season. Combined, the popular books, music and video/DVD category comprised a 17.8% market share of all holiday spending, with consumers spending nearly $1.9 billion this season. Apparel was not far behind, as the category garnered more than $1.8 billion recording a 17.5% market share.   • Overture Renews Search Agreement With UK's Freeserve

    Overture Services, Inc. announced that its United Kingdom subsidiary has renewed its exclusive, multi-year distribution agreement for Pay-For-Performance services with Freeserve.com, the UK's No. 1 Internet portal and access provider. Freeserve is wholly owned by leading European online media and services company Wanadoo, a subsidiary of France Telecom. Additionally, Overture announced an agreement to become the exclusive provider of Pay-For-Performance services on Wanadoo.fr and Voila.fr in France. Wanadoo is the largest Internet Service Provider in France, with approximately 8 million subscribers in Europe and 20 million visitors per month.
