  • MediaCom U.S., has promoted KRIS COONTZ to president of Grey Entertainment and MediaCom Los Angeles, from executive vice president, entertainment marketing. KAREN BLOORE, former senior vice president, entertainment marketing, succeeds Coontz as executive vice president, entertainment marketing. Coontz, a 15-year veteran in the advertising/entertainment industry, will be responsible for managing all operations for two divisions in California: Grey Entertainment and MediaCom Los Angeles. In addition, he will continue to lead the Warner Bros. account.

  • Hill, Holliday announced that WILMA EPSTEIN has joined the agency’s New York office as EVP chief media & integration officer. For more than 10 years, Epstein held a variety of senior level positions at Ogilvy & Mather in New York, where she was most recently a senior partner and director of strategy & media development on the global IBM account.

  • aQuantive, Inc., a digital marketing services and technology company, announced that LINDA J. SRERE and JAYNIE M. STUDENMUND have joined the company's board of directors. Srere, currently a marketing and advertising consultant, brings extensive experience to aQuantive. Most recently, she served as president of Young & Rubicam Advertising. Most recently, Studenmund served as chief operating officer of Overture Services, Inc., helping the search-based products and tools provider grow quarterly revenues from $50 million to $300 million, and expand into 12 international markets.

  • Bartle Bogle Hegarty has hired LISA PARK as associate media director. Park replaces former AMD MARINA ROARK and will lead the media development process within BBH. Lisa most recently worked at the Wolf Group as associate media director.

  • STEFFAN POSTAER has been named chairman and chief creative officer of Euro RSCG Worldwide's Chicago organization. Postaer will be responsible for the overall creative leadership and quality of the creative product for the Chicago-based organization as well as its Euro RSCG 4D marketing services companies located in Atlanta, GA; Danbury, CT; Dallas, TX; Portland, OR; and Carlsbad, CA. Most recently, Postaer was executive vice president/chief creative officer of LBWorks.

  • ROB LARSON has been promoted to director of product management and development for NYTimes.com. In this new role, he will manage the various products for NYTimes.com's current verticals as well as the development of new ones. Previously, Larson was director of information architecture.

  • Forbes.com promoted MICHAEL SMITH from chief technology officer to vice president and general manager of operations. He will continue to oversee all of Forbes.com’s activities in the areas of production, audience development, and ad serving.

  • PR News, an executive-level weekly newsletter, has named MOLLY PARSLEY, marketing & PR manager of Carat Interactive, one of "15 to Watch in 2004." Parsley joined Internet advertising firm Lot21 in 1998 (acquired by Carat Interactive in January 2002). Parsley will also be serving as Communications Co-Chair for BIG (Bay Area Interactive Group), a professional trade association dedicated to cultivating and promoting interactive media in the Bay Area.

  • Digitas named GREGORY A. GREEN, Ph.D. to the newly-created post of global head of analytics. Green will lead the development of analytic capabilities across all Digitas clients and offices. Prior to joining Digitas, Green was executive vice president and chief strategy officer for The Allant Group, a marketing services firm.

  • Commission Junction has formed a New York-based sales and operations team for CJ Evolution, the company’s new online-advertising model. JOCELYN GRIFFING, an online advertising veteran out of Beyond Interactive, Phase2Media and Modem Media, will lead the team as vice president of media operations. Jocelyn joined Commission Junction from Beyond Interactive, a Grey Global Group company, where she was senior vice president, Integrated Media. Prior to that, she was vice president of consulting services and business development at Phase2Media.

  • Stand-Up Comedy Television, a 24-hour cable network set to launch in January 2005, announced today that GARRY MARSHALL has joined the network’s Creative Advisory Council (CAC). Council members will advise Stand-Up Comedy Television on the comedic and entertainment direction of the network in a quarterly review process and have the opportunity to create, produce and/or star in their own programming concepts, which will air on Stand-Up Comedy Television.

  • Tapestry, the multicultural division of Starcom MediaVest Group, announced the promotion of MARLA SKIKO to director of investment from a general market media executive at SMG working on Walt Disney World, Disneyland, Kellogg, Minute Maid and the Miller Brewing Co. account.

  • PricewaterhouseCoopers named senior partner R. WAYNE JACKSON as global leader of the firm’s entertainment and media practice. Jackson will oversee PricewaterhouseCoopers’ assurance, tax, and advisory work with many of the entertainment and media industry’s leading companies. He will spearhead the PricewaterhouseCoopers entertainment & media practice’s business development, marketing, communications and knowledge management efforts. Jackson replaces outgoing entertainment and media practice global leader KEVIN CARTON, who will retire from the firm on June 30, 2004.

  • Business.com made two additions to its East coast sales team, WILL SUAREZ and JOSEPH SABOL, as directors of sales. Most recently, Suarez was East coast sales manager of AvantGo Mobile Internet service. Previously, he served as northeast sales manager of Engage Media. Sabol most recently worked as the national online sales director of InfoWorld.

  • JOHN DONNELLY has been promoted at GOLF Magazine to associate publisher, elevated from advertising director. Additionally, BRAD FELENSTEIN, a fifteen-year veteran of GOLF Magazine, has been named director of business development; RON MULLIKEN, formerly Southeastern manager, has been named Northeastern manager, and will oversee the magazine’s New York sales operations; and DAN ROBERTSON previously director, national golf equipment advertising, was recently named as VP, director of sales at This Old House Ventures.

  • Scholastic, a preK-12 educational publisher and global children’s publishing and media company, today announced the appointment of FRANK WHITE to director, New York City for Scholastic Education. Prior to joining Scholastic, White was president of The E2 Consulting Group in New York City, focusing on market analysis and concept development services for information and instructional technology companies.

  • Wyse Technology appointed industry veteran MAX TOY as chief operating officer. Toy began his career at IBM, where he established the successful Independent Dealer Channel program for the newly launched IBM Personal Computer and was then recruited by Compaq Computer Corporation to build its sales and marketing organization. Most recently, Toy was president of Wyse’s software subsidiary, Rapport Technologies.
