  • TOM STORMS was named international publishing director of the international division of American Express Publishing Corporation.


  • LEONG WAI FOONG has joined BBDO Shanghai as executive creative director. In addition, TOM KAO will be leaving BBDO Asia as deputy chairman. CHRIS THOMAS, the new Chairman and CEO of BBDO Asia, will assume Kao’s responsibilities.


  • DIANE MALLOY has been named associate publisher of Rodale Inc.’s Preventionmagazine. Malloy will be responsible for bringing new advertisers to the magazine in both its core and growth categories. Most recently, she was associate publisher of sales and marketing for Teen People.


  • ABC News Radio has named former senator FRED THOMPSON to the position of special program host and senior analyst.


  • CATERINA BARTOLI has been named group media director at The Media Kitchen. She was most recently associate media director. MELISSA WALKER has joined The Media Kitchen as associate media director. She was previously a media supervisor at Hill Holiday in Boston.


  • JONAS HALLBERG has joined Dotglu as creative director; ANTHONY MONAHAN has joined Dotglu as art director; NICK COLLETTA has joined the company as an associate producer; CHRIS GSELL joined the agency as an associate producer; GUNNAR DAHLBERG has joined Dotglu as an interactive developer; and DARRYL BRAUNMILLER was named as account director.


  • YELENA SHISTER was named account manager at LIME. She was previously an account executive at Gyro Worldwide.


  • Operative has named GEOFF PETKUS as senior director of product management; ERIC HARRIS was named vice president of professional services; and JENNIFER DEVLIN was tapped as director of product planning.


  • DAVID BRADLEY has been named as chief marketing officer of Corbis. Bradley was previously a senior vice president at SAP Global Marketing.


  • HOWARD KLEIN has been named a senior vice president at Draft Chicago after nine years at the agency. He will continue to serve as director of customer specific marketing.


  • DOROTHY ECKERT has been promoted to associate director of direct response buying, up from direct response senior buyer, at Horizon. In addition, JON KATZ has joined the Direct Response Buying team as a direct response buying supervisor; SUSAN DEMPSEY joined the direct response buying team as a senior buyer; TOM HILDEBRAND joined Horizon as an account executive; ERIN COHEN was tapped as a direct response planner; and ERICA MORON was named an assistant planner.


  • KRISTIN WILCHA has joinedHYPR Communications, most recently serving as a reporter and editor at SHOOT magazine.


  • Active Marketing Group has appointed ERIC MAGNUSON to lead its nationwide agency operations. He was previously a member of the senior management team at Millsport, a sports marketing agency.


  • DONNA BIERNADSKI has joined Euro RSCG Chicago as group account director for the Sprint account. In addition, LIN YELTON was named director of operations for the Chicago office. Biernadski will oversee strategic and integrated marketing campaigns for Sprint. Lin will develop and oversee the strategic planning and day-to-day workings of the Studio, Production, Mount Room, Building Services and IT departments.


  • CHRISTY LEFEBVRE has been named account executive at BURST!; MARC CONDON was also named as account executive in Chicago; and MICHAEL COLLINS was named an account executive for the Detroit office of BURST!.


  • JULIA JONES has been promoted to senior vice president, director of media planning/New York, deutschMedia, from senior vice president, brand media director. She will oversee integrated planning, orchestrating all media planning for the New York office of Deutsch. BARI MERKOW was promoted to senior vice president, director of national buying, deutschMedia, from vice president, group director, national broadcast. She will oversee all national television and radio buying, as well as work with networks on branded entertainment and multimedia programs. Lastly, KARIN PRIOR has been namedvice president, director of interactive and emerging media, deutschmedia, from vice president, associate media director.


  • CHRIS GILBERT, former EVP of sales, marketing and operations at Sega, has been appointed CEO of Adscape Media, an in-game advertising company that connects advertisers to the video game playing community. BERNIE STOLAR, former president of Sega, Mattel Interactive and EVP at Sony, has joined Adscape Media as chairman of the board.


  • Draft has promoted MELISSA CLEMENTE to vice president, print production director; TINA CLINE has been named vice president, account director, for Draft's Brown-Forman account and HOLLY QUINN has been named vice president, account director.


  • Carat Fusion has added five staff members in its New York office to handle media planning, buying and strategy duties on several accounts. The agency has hired LAURENLJUBICICH as an associate media director, LINDSAY BLAKE as a media supervisor; GARRETT ALBANESE as a media planner; CYNTHIA PAI as a media planner and BRITTANY GRIGGS as an assistant media planner.


  • Vital Marketing has created an Alcohol and Spirits Division. EFRAIN OLIVA will lead the division as project manager.


  • American Express Publishing Corporation has named BARBARA VENTURELLI consumer marketing director of finance and planning. Venturelli is responsible for managing the circulation financials and publisher's statements for all American Express Publishing magazines. Most recently, she worked at Gruner & Jahr as director of group operations.


  • Ziff Davis has promoted ELAINE EBNER to vice president of corporate sales. Ebner will continue to be responsible for managing a group of designated accounts. Most recently, she served as corporate sales director at Ziff Davis.


  • Meredith Corporation’sTraditional Home has promoted BLAIRE RZEMPOLUCH to advertising director, elevated from New York advertising manager. Most recently she served as eastern advertising manager for the Better Homes and Gardens Special Interest Publications.


  • Forensic scientist DR. HENRY LEE has become a Court TV News analyst. Lee will provide opinion and insider knowledge for a variety of daytime programs, including Catherine Crier Live.


  • CAROL DITTBRENNER has been promoted to deputy features director ofTV Guide magazine where she will work on planning upcoming features and cover stories for the magazine. Dittbrenner served as senior editor of TV Guide for the past six years.


  • imc² has named JOEL GEHMAN vice president and managing director of its Philadelphia office. Gehman will oversee all business operations, client relationships and new business development for the region.


  • LANCE MALD is joining Time Inc. as vice president, creative director for Time Inc. corporate sales and marketing. In addition, RICK KING has been named vice president, strategic marketing for Time Inc. corporate sales and marketing; SARAH KATE ELLIS will become a director, integrated marketing; and LIZ GREENBURG was named director, sales strategy.


  • The AIM Tell-A-Vision Group has named SCOTT BASILOTTA as east coast distribution director. Basilotta will be responsible for managing AIM TV’s distribution on broadcast television for its library of syndicated properties.


  • TROY LERNER has joined The Booyah Agency, most recently working at Avenue A / Razorfish Search.


  • DAVID BERKOWITZ has departed Unicast/Viewpoint and joined 360i as director of strategic planning, working to further develop 360i's strategy within emerging fields such as Video Search, Mobile Search, RSS, Podcasting and Pay-Per-Call.


  • Discovery Communications has promoted STEVE SIDEL to president of Discovery Education. Sidel joined Discovery Communications in 1997 in the Legal Affairs department, becoming senior vice president, deputy counsel in 2001 and in 2004, Sidel was named executive vice president, Discovery Education.


  • JIM HOURAN has been named eastern region advertising director for PARADE magazine. He is responsible for ad sales activities in New York. Houran joins PARADE from Sports Illustrated where he most recently served as New York advertising director.


  • Draft Chicago has promoted JONATHAN SACKETT to SVP, director of digital operations. Sackett is responsible for growing the agency's digital capabilities.


  • Carat Fusion has named ERIC BEACOM as creative director for the agency’s Boston office. Beacom will manage creative strategy and resources for the office’s clients. Beacom previously served as a senior principal design consultant at netNumina Solutions.


  • AARP Publications has named BERNARD OHANIAN as editorial director of AARP Publications to oversee AARP The Magazine, the AARP Bulletin, AARP Segunda Juventud, and their respective online sites. Ohanian was previously associate editor at National Geographic.


  • The Dallas Morning News has named BERNIE HELLER as vice president of advertising.


  • OHare + Associates named DIANA M. WOOD to head its newly formed Internet Media Staffing Unit.
