Online advertisement revenue in Hong Kong reached 167 million HK dollars (21.4 million U.S. dollars) for the first nine months of 2000, representing a 114% growth over the same period in 1999, a
report issued Wednesday said. The report, issued by the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) Hong Kong, also sais that ad revenues rose to 69 million HK dollars (8.84 million U.S. dollars) in the third
quarter of 2000, a 15 million HK dollars (1.92 million U.S. dollars) or 28% increase over the second quarter and a 57% rise over the first-quarter. According to the report, the categories which lead
online ad revenues in the first three quarters of 2000 were consumer-related, at 54%, computing products, at 12%, followed by telecoms, business and financial services.
