TNN Marks Most Watched Month

TNN marked another milestone in January -- its most watched month in its 17-year history in both Primetime and Total Day, according to Nielsen Media Research. In addition, TNN, which began its re-branding as TNN: The National Network in late September 2000, marked its fifth consecutive month of year-to-year growth in Primetime and Total Day viewership.

For January 2001, TNN's Primetime rating grew 52% to 1.17, representing 929,000 households, up 59% over January 2000, when TNN reached 584,000 households (0.77 rating). In Primetime household delivery, TNN's ranked ninth among all advertiser supported cable networks, up from 12th a year ago.

Contributing significantly to TNN's Primetime performance was a 129% growth among TNN's target audience, Adults 18-49. Among Adults 18-49, TNN ranked 7th among all advertiser supported cable networks, a dramatic increase from its 18th place rank a year ago.

In January 2001 Total Day, TNN garnered a .51 rating, up 28% from a year ago (.40). TNN delivered 402,000 households in January 2001, up 32% from a year ago (304,000). In January 2001, TNN reached 49% more Adults 18-49 over the prior year.
