Britain's Virgin Radio Debuts in Number Three Position

MeasureCast, Inc. announced today that Internet-only broadcaster MEDIAmazing.com took the number one spot in MeasureCast's list of top 25 Internet radio broadcasters for the week of March 5 - March 11. This marks the first time since MeasureCast began issuing rankings in December 2000 that New York talk radio station WABC did not finish the week in first place -- it took second. Total time spent listening (TTSL) to MEDIAmazing.com rose 23% over the previous week, and its Cume (An estimate of the total number of unique listeners who had one or more listening sessions lasting five minutes or longer) jumped 24%.

Among the 24 comparable stations in the Top 25 list, 10 experienced an increase in TTSL, with overall TTSL for the top 24 dropping 4.2% for the week. Cume for the top 24 rose 2.6% over the previous week (Virgin Radio was excluded as it did not appear on the list the previous week). London-based Virgin Radio made its MeasureCast Top 25(tm) debut with its adult alternative station winning the number three slot in the weekly ranking.

* The peak listening day was Wednesday, with 19% of all TTSL occurring on this day.

* Listening on Saturday and Sunday accounted for 10% of all TTSL.

* Peak listening time was 9 a.m. PST (Noon EST).

* 84% of all listening occurred between 5 a.m. and 5 p.m. PST (8 a.m. and 8 p.m. EST)

53% of Internet radio listeners are under 35 years old; 25% are younger than 25; and 7.4% are over the age of 55.
