eBay Unveils First National TV Ad Campaign

Internet auction site eBay unveiled its first national television advertising campaign last Thursday, in a move to reap a new crop of online bidders and distance itself from the gloomy publicity surrounding this year's dot-com meltdown. The television ads, which ran through Sunday on all the major U.S. television networks, were aimed at building broader brand awareness for eBay - which so far has found most of its users through word-of-mouth, company officials said on Wednesday.
