William Blair & Company initiated research coverage of Havas Advertising (HADV), the world's fifth-largest advertising and marketing services company, with a Long-term Buy rating. Advertising and marketing services analyst Troy Mastin estimated that France-based Havas would earn $0.55 per share in fiscal 2001 and $0.60 per share in 2002. William Blair & Company also initiated research coverage of MemberWorks Incorporated (MBRS), a third-party direct marketing company that designs, manages, and sells membership programs to consumers, with a Long-term Buy rating. Advertising and marketing services analyst Troy Mastin estimated that Stamford, Connecticut-based MemberWorks, founded in 1989, would earn $0.59 per share in fiscal 2002. -- Adam Bernard
