  • by November 12, 2001
The October Arbitron Webcast Ratings, released on Friday by Arbitron Inc., ranked Virgin Radio as the number one webcast channel, with 567,800 aggregate tuning hours (ATH) – the sum total of all hours that listeners tune to a given station or channel – and Live365 as the top network with 4,743,300 ATH.

Public Interactive ranked number two in the network ratings with 1,178,400 ATH and Clear Channel Internet Group ranked number three with 787,300 ATH. Webcast networks are defined as radio station owners that stream their content online or companies that aggregate online audio programming. Webcast networks are ranked according to their total monthly ATH.

In the individual channel rankings, Seattle-based KING-FM held the number two spot with 517,900 ATH. Internet-only broadcaster MEDIAmazing took the number three position with 501,500 ATH.

The rankings included in the October 2001 Arbitron Webcast Ratings are based on those stations and channels that have provided Arbitron with access to their server data. The ratings may not reflect all tuning for the measured stations or channels, since Arbitron may have received incomplete server data or some data that was not usable.
