Sarsen Steps Down At ANA

The Association of National Advertisers announced the retirement of its president and CEO John J. Sarsen, Jr. Sarsen's replacement as head of the 300-member organization will be announced later this month, according to ANA Chairman of the Board, James D. Speros. Sarsen joined the ANA in 1994 after a marketing career that included senior positions at General Foods, PepsiCo and Canada Dry. On his watch the ANA grew its membership to an all-time high. It also negotiated favorable terms with talent unions, including the year 2000 when a protracted SAG/AFTRA strike took place.
