Speaking at the iMedia Brand Summit recently, David Verklin, CEO of Carat North America, noted that in order for interactive to increase its share of media budgets one of the services it must provide to clients is a complete media schedule for online advertising.

Interep Interactive yesterday took a step in that direction.

The company announced electronic invoicing and electronic tear sheets for online ad insertions, a first for the Internet advertising industry. Advertising agencies and corporate marketers who place ads through Interep will now receive invoices via email and be able to access screenshots of their online ad units to confirm they have run when and where promised.

“Verification has been a problem – and perhaps, an impediment to greater spending – for the online ad industry,” says Adam Guild, President of Interep Interactive. “With Interep’s new online billing and tear sheet program, advertisers can know with a click that their ads have run per our contract with them. We aspire to and continue to deliver the finest service in the online advertising business.”
