HGTV.com, the companion website to the popular lifestyle cable network Home & Garden Television, has announced that it will launch the
Gardening Newsletter, the first-ever spin-off of its
HGTV Ideas newsletter on Thursday, March 20, the first day of spring. The newsletter’s editions will provide new, original content exclusive to the newsletter. The
Gardening Newsletter
will be compiled by master gardener and HGTV.com editor Marie Hofer, who has written for
Time-Life Books,
Fine Gardening and
Cooking Light. Once launched, it will be published
every two weeks until July, when it will become monthly until Spring 2004. Additionally, the newsletter also will create a new outlet for HGTV advertisers. Companies like Scotts will provide branded
editorial content, rather than standard ads via banners and graphics. HGTV.com has already generated the 600,000 requests for the newsletter via an online
signup page.
