Combining print, web, and broadcast, The Daily is such a unique mix of images, text, and video that it was the third highest-grossing app on iTunes in 2011, behind Angry Birds and The Smurfs. On average, readers spend 30 minutes a day, four days a week, in the app. Staffed by editorial, design, and technology experts, The Daily produces over 100 pages of tablet-native original content under its News, Business, Fashion Week, Opinion, Gossip, and Apps & Tech tabs. The site cops to Mild Cartoon or Fantasy Violence, but it’s not like there’s a constant diet of multicolored birds obliterating hungry green pigs.
