Monster Worldwide's Monstermoving.com site has launched its utility connection center, a service that allows users to connect household services before moving into a new home. The center facilitates
transfer and set-up of local and long-distance phone service, cable and satellite TV, Internet connections, and gas and electric utilities. "The process of transferring utilities is very
time-consuming," said Monstermoving.com chief operating officer Pete Lamson in a press release. "Through this service, customers can complete these complicated tasks in a matter of minutes." A primary
benefit of the utility connection center for telephone, cable and utility providers is that it connects them to a willing audience of customers. Through an online listing on the site, these providers
can reach a targeted audience of moving consumers at the point when they are making utility decisions. For that reason, the company believes the center will serve as a valuable customer acquisition
and retention tool.
