75% of Consumers Will Delete Emails That Don't Render on Their Smartphones

Seventy-five percent of consumers said that they are "highly likely" to delete emails that don't render on their smartphone, according to new research from email marketing services firm Constant Contact and Chadwick Martin Bailey. This is a big factor, as the report found that 80% of consumers said it is "extremely important" to be able to read emails on mobile devices. The report also revealed that 88% of 18-30 year-olds open email via mobile, with 50% saying that a smartphone is their "primary" email device. The report also found that 85% of those aged 30-39 read emails on mobile, with 52% reporting that their smartphones are their primary email device.
