Delivery.com Finds Success in Targeting Emails by Location

Delivery.com has found that sending geographically targeted emails is the way to their customer's stomachs. The company uses geo coordinates to locate more than 10,000 merchants in the delivery range of its customers. About once a week, Delivery.com sends an email featuring a few restaurants that are offering deals to customers nearby. The emails go out just before breakfast, lunch or dinner depending on what's on the menu. The emails are targeted by location. Since the company launched its email program, delivery.com has seen a 25 percent increase in active buyers, a 3 percent increase in average order value, and a 40 percent increase in open rates.
