Tesla's Big Road Trip

Two Tesla Motors electric sedans drove across the country for more than 76 hours, from Hawthorne, Calif., to Manhattan, stopping only to recharge their batteries. Tesla says the road trip scored the lowest charging time for any cross-country jaunt in an electric car. The two Model S sedans — “Thunder” and “Lightning” — used Tesla’s high-speed Superchargers to reload the batteries.
