Defense Department IT Director Predicts End of Email at the Agency
Air Force Lt. Gen. Ronnie Hawkins, director of the Defense Information Systems Agency, thinks that email may be on its way out at the US Defense Department. In an interview with Federal Times,
he said that he imagines a more collaborative communications tool for the future, explaining that younger soldiers were raised on text, IM and social media, not email.
