Australian Businesses Have Lost $600K to Scammers Since October

Cyber criminals have stolen $600,000 from Australian businesses by posing as vendors requesting payments be sent to a new bank account via email, according to a new report from The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC)'s watch dog SCAMwatch. The report revealed that 20 companies reported being victims of such scams since October. One company alone lost almost $500,000 due to the scam.
