It takes an average of one minute and 20 seconds from when an employee opens a phishing email for the malware to infect a company's network, according to the new Verizon Breach
Investigations Report. The research found that 23 percent of recipients open phishing messages. However, opening a spam email doesn't lead to an attack. It is the 11 percent of recipients
that click on malicious attachments that cause cyber attacks.
