Online scammers have been using Airbnb to trick consumers into sending them money. In a recent scam, a consumer that booked a flat in Barcelona using the service was asked to share their email
address. Once the conversation left the Airbnb portal, the scammers asked the user to transfer money to an Airbnb holding account to secure the reservation. Despite being removed and complaints, the
listing managed to pop back up several times.
