Bringing Brand To China? Ta-Ta To Your Trademark

Trademark laws in China make doing business there while protecting your brand something of a challenge. An example is Air Jordan and sports apparel store Qiaodan, which happens to be pronounced kinda like “Jordan.” The logo? A silhouette of a basketball player, mid-air, his outstretched arm holding a basketball. Kinda like Jordan. Apple, Gucci, New Balance and Tesla have faced similar challenges there.
