Restaurants Getting Help At The Gas Pump

With the price of gas averaging $2.33, and below $2 a gallon in three states, there is extra money in consumers’ pockets. They are spending some of it at restaurants and accommodations businesses: spending increased 8.1% in July, according to First Data. Total consumer spending grew just 0.4% in August, but restaurants saw a 5.7% increase last month.
