Gannett Co. Inc., the publisher of USA Today, said on Tuesday its second-quarter profit rose by 5%, bolstered by increased advertising revenue at its television properties. Gannett, the largest U.S.
newspaper company with more than 90 newspapers as well as 22 television stations, said second-quarter earnings climbed to $303.9 million, or $1.13 per share, compared with $288.9 million, or $1.08, in
the year-ago period on a comparable basis.
