Search rivals MSN and Google have this week announced plans to move into China, with MSN announcing Wednesday a partnership with Shanghai Alliance Investment Ltd. to launch a Chinese Web portal, and
Google recently declaring its intent to open an office in Shanghai by the end of 2005. In addition to the partnership with SAIL, MSN has also acquired assets from TSSX, a Chinese mobile software and
service company, to provide mobile service to its future Chinese users.
