Don't Buy Email Lists, Expert Warns

An email veteran argues that buying or renting email lists is “risky and lazy.” Based on 17 years in retailing, Ryan Phelan writes: “You think all you need to do to make your first million is to buy 10,000 email addresses for a dollar and send out a message? You’ll just sit back, rack up the sales and then go on CNBC and reminisce about all the hard work you did, right? Right. And I have this great bridge in Brooklyn that can be yours for a low, low price."
