Satellite network provider Hughes Network has introduced a Digital Satellite Recorder for DIRECTV. The Digital Satellite Recorder is a low-cost digital video recorder (DVR) set-top box. Manufactured
by HNS in cooperation with DIRECTV and TiVo, the Digital Satellite Recorder will retail for approximately $200 and will be available from HNS through leading consumer electronics retailers beginning
this fall. The DSR has a 40 GB hard disk drive that can digitally record up to 35 hours of programming.
