Email Privacy Update Not Likely To Make It Into Defense Bill

Lawmakers are unlikely to include an update of the Electronic Communications Privacy Act of 1986 in a defense bill expected to be sent to President Donald Trump.The provisions have stalled in the Senate, where Majority Whip John Cornyn (R-Texas) seeks exceptions for some FBI procedures used in gaining access to data.
