Toy manufacturer Mattel, Inc. has completed its review of its advertising agencies, and has settled on splitting its business among several shops. Young & Rubicam's Irvine office will handle the
Boys/Entertainment division, which includes the Hot Wheels and Matchbox brands. Y&R will continue its assignments with the Fisher-Price core business and older Girls brands. Prior to the review, the
Boys/Entertainment division business was with the Foote, Cone & Belding Chicago and El Segundo offices. Mattel's Fisher-Price licensed entertainment properties business, or character brands stays with
FCB New York. Notable brands include Sesame Street, Barney and Winnie the Pooh. Agencies will begin work immediately on projects slated for 2003.
