Kmart Launches Hispanic Magazine

Just two weeks after it announced its first Spanish-language circular, Kmart announced it will launch La Vida magazine next week, an entertainment and lifestyle magazine that contains features and articles aimed at the Hispanic community. Kmart estimates that the magazine will reach 10 million Spanish-speaking consumers in the U.S. each month. Initial distribution of one million copies of the La Vida magazine will be in select markets with large Hispanic populations. The La Vida magazine will wrap the Kmart advertising circular which now appears weekly in Spanish in Nogales and Yuma, AZ, Chicago; Los Angeles, Palm Springs and San Diego, CA ; El Paso and Laredo, TX; Miami and New York. La Vida will include topics such as entertainment news and artist profiles. The first issue features Marc Anthony on the cover, and includes his special Kmart exclusive CD offer. Kmart says the “magazine provides a compelling approach for its brand partners with an opportunity to directly target the Hispanic market.”
