Yahoo! Stars In mtvU Show

  • September 14, 2005
Yahoo! partnered with MTV's college network, mtvU, for its reality series about three couples and how they cope with long-distance liaisons using Yahoo! Mail, Yahoo! Mobile, the community blogging service Yahoo! 360, and Yahoo! Messenger with Voice. Fans of the series, "IMU: I Miss You," which debuted earlier this month, have full access to every word--spoken or typed--and every image exchanged between the couples, and will be asked later this month to vote for their favorite pair by visiting http://promotions.yahoo.com/imu or www.mtvU.com. The winning couple, along with random fans, will receive a two-week trip to Europe. Stephen Friedman, mtvU's general manager, said he approached Yahoo! with the idea of long-distance relationships and how young people use technology to connect. "We were interested in the relationships and how these new forms of technology can help those relationships," he said. MtvU reaches more than 730 colleges across the United States.
