The Association of National Advertisers issued a scathing attack on a proposal by consumer advocacy group Commercial Alert and some med school professors to end direct-to-consumer advertising of
prescription drugs. The ANA's Washington representative Dan Jaffe cited a myriad of studies and statistics about the benefits of DTC advertising that flatly rejected claims made in Commercial Alert's
petition to the FDA.
