Upwork Campaign Urges Employers To Hire More Working Moms

No question being a mom is fulltime job in and of itself. But with Mother’s Day just around the corner, it’s a sure bet that for some moms a job in the workforce would be the best gift they could receive on their special day.

And global hiring platform Upwork wants to help. It is out with a new campaign that encourages employees to hire more working moms, 1.6 million of whom lost jobs in 2020 due to the pandemic.

The campaign, titled #MotherhoodWorks, is timed to the lead-up to this year’s Mother's Day on May 8.

The campaign--created in-house by working moms--includes a number of short spots promoting various attributes of moms that are also valued in employees, like being a team player, focused, leader and a mentor.

Upwork has also launched a webpage where companies can find and hire working mothers directly for skilled freelance projects.
