Condé Nast has named Katie Drummond global editorial director of Wired, responsible for steering the brand across all platforms worldwide. She joins on Aug.
28.
Drummond previously served as senior vice president of global news & entertainment at Vice Media Group, and also had been deputy editor at
Medium.
At Vice, Drummond oversaw a global expansion across Latin America, Europe and Asia, along with off-platform audience
development—i.e., via video reporting and the launch of Vice on Twitch.
This is Drummond’s second stint at
Wired, the first having been as an intern in 2009.
“From sitting on the floor of the editor in chief’s office during feature pitch
meetings to trying my hand as a blogger for Wired.com, Wired is where I learned the ins and outs of great journalism,” Drummond says.

“Katie is exactly the right editor to lead Wired at a time where the worlds of technology and culture are shifting and colliding every single day,” says Anna Wintour,
Condé Nast's chief content officer and global editorial director, Vogue. “Katie is excited and interested in all of it.”
Wired covers how technology is changing peoples’ lives.
