Ankler Media has named London Sanders as head of sales, effective September 5. 

Sanders joins Ankler from Deadline Hollywood, where she served for six years, most recently as vice president of sales.  

The Ankler is an email newsletter on Substack devoted to entertainment news. Ankler also offers podcasts that it says says have generated more than 1 million downloads. It claims to be the second-largest business publication on Substack. And it says its podcasts are the fourth most- listened-to on the platform.

In addition, Ankler Media says it has seen a 47% hike in Emmy season ad revenue YoY. 

“I see a huge opportunity to bring sponsors closer to The Ankler’s audience, deeply steeped in Hollywood, as we expand our content, including into events,” says Sanders. 

During this year, Ankler Media has also appointed Claire Atkinson as contributing editor, Peter Kiefer as staff writer and Elaine Low as staff writer.
