As negotiations continue, Sinclair Broadcast Group has agreed to extend a current retransmission deal with Comcast for a month. The current contract was to expire Feb. 5 and effects 3 million
subscribers in markets such as Pittsburgh, Baltimore, Minneapolis, Nashville, Tampa and Mobile. Though Sinclair could not force Comcast to pull in-market stations during February sweeps, it could have
made it yank HD or out-of-market signals. Comcast has recently inked new retransmission agreements with Fox and ABC while Sinclair has a new pact with Time Warner Cable.
