GET Interactive Upgrades In-Video Platform

  • October 8, 2007
Winston-Salem-based GET Interactive has upgraded its Ad-Venture video advertising platform, adding full functionality for IPTV and mobile content. The service can now identify and serve ads for products embedded in mobile video, coordinate with carriers for direct-to-mobile purchases, as well as deliver location-targeted coupons to handsets.

Ad-Venture helps brands and content producers make the most of product placements in movies, videos and games, by linking the items directly to a user-initiated ad panel. Consumers click on the "Get Stuff Now" link and are taken to an interactive window where they can purchase said products directly or get coupons and other promotional info.

GET Interactive works with content producers to choose the best place to embed the clickable "Get Stuff Now" link (either in the content's main menu, initial navigation page, or at plot points in the stream itself) so that it is visible, but non-intrusive. Advertisers now have the option to target users via IPTV, Web-connected video games, online video and mobile phone.

Paramount Pictures signed on as the first major studio to use the in-video ad serving platform when it launched in late June (for Freedom Writers, starring Hilary Swank) and since then, GET Interactive has signed deals with Sega for upcoming game titles and Overture Productions for the upcoming film 'Mad Money.'
