Trump Nears Syndie Deal

Twentieth Television is on the verge of a deal that would bring Donald Trump to daytime syndication, insiders say. The concept -- described as a hybrid of "Dr. Phil" and "Judge Judy" -- would feature Trump as the mediator for people with financial disputes. It could include spouses fighting over money, engaged couples thinking of pre-nups or even parents worried about their children's spending habits.

The half-hour show is targeted for fall 2008 in early fringe and access time slots and would be shot from Trump's offices in New York. Neither Twentieth nor Trump is talking, and while many syndie projects are in the works for next fall, only a handful have been confirmed thus far. Among them: NBC Universal's "Deal or No Deal" and a Warner Bros./Telepictures talk show hosted by Bonnie Hunt.
