Hold My Ad (or What Will They Think of Next?)

  • March 1, 2002
A plastic handgrip that prevents the handle section of a plastic shopping bag from cutting into a shopper's hand when stretched from being loaded with shopping, has been designed by British company H S Marks & Co, and is now being pitched to the world as the newest ad vehicle. The device, which is easily carried around in a bag or pocket, brings comfort while shopping and will act as a promotional tool for retailers when printed with company name, brands or logos. Although simple in appearance, the patented HELP-U-GRIP is the result of considerable investigation and geometric design, company officials maintain. The handle portion of a plastic bag fits snugly into the grip and spreads the load of the weight being carried over a larger area of the shopper's hand. Because of its robust design, the grip can carry more than one bag and is virtually unbreakable.
