Things Are Getting Nasty At Condé

Life isn't happy at Condé Nast, which is experiencing cutbacks. The home of the glitziest magazines in the business was expecting to cut more than 100 people last Friday, the biggest cut in the company's history.

The first casualty -- Men's Vogue is cutting back to two issues a year from 10 and will now be a standalone supplement to Vogue magazine. Portfolio, headed by Joanne Lipman, is being downsized by 20%, and the Web team will carry on with five staffers.
