Red Sox Already A Game Up On The Yankees

Red Sox Nation says that it's freezing all ticket costs for the 2009 season at 2008 prices. When a blog named Luxist warns that Yankee ticket prices for 2009 are "pricey," you know that the BoSox' archrivals are going in the opposite direction.

"We have been listening to fans, friends, and family about the challenges they are facing in light of the current adverse economic conditions," says Larry Lucchino, Red Sox president and CEO. And what they've gleaned, no doubt, is that short of a World Championship, frugality is the quickest way to a fan's heart.

All this largesse comes, by the way, on the heels of the Red Sox setting a new all-time Major League sellout streak record last season.
