Vanessa Cognard is the publisher of WebMD's suite of magazines and joined WebMD in September 2013. She leads the sales, marketing and business development teams for the lifestyle magazine/point-of-care business unit, which includes WebMD Magazine, WebMD products/programs at point of care, and the custom WebMD magazines including WebMD Campus Life, WebMD Diabetes at Walgreens, and the new professional magazine Medscape the Business of Medicine launched by Medscape, the No. 1 physician portal in the U.S. and internationally. Prior to WebMD, Cognard led the sales strategy for Rodale (Prevention, Prevention.com), Meredith Corp (More Magazine) and Crain Communications (Crain’s New York Business). She has also been an integral part of the sales organization at The Wall Street Journal and MTV Networks. Cognard serves as an executive board member of the PoC3 Council. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Integrated Marketing Communications degree at West Virginia University and has successfully completed the IAB online sales certification (2012). Previously in her career, Cognard served for 5 years on the Alliance of Area Business Publications Board, leading the online sales training webinars and coordinating the sales tracks for all AABP meetings.
